Congratulations to Drs. Daria Barwinska and Keith March their article recognized by the American Journal of Physiology-Lung Section as “Best of the Best.” The article, titled “AMD3100 ameliorates cigarette smoke-induced emphysema-like manifestations in mice,” details evidence that cigarette smoke (CS)-induced pulmonary emphysema-like manifestations are preceded by marked suppression of the number and function of bone marrow hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC).
