The University of Florida Center for Regenerative Medicine will expand and integrate cell-based regenerative medicine therapeutics into standard-of-care practices by facilitating the transition of pre-clinical regenerative medicine research into clinical trials and, ultimately, developing a service line of novel, life-changing therapies.
Leveraging the university’s strength in engineering, biology, and veterinary medicine will help to develop useful products and approaches, including tissue-on-a-chip platforms, cell-based diagnostics, and cell-based therapeutics. The center will develop guideline-recommended practical strategies to reduce injury in diseases affecting multiple organs, including the heart, blood and blood vessels, muscles, lungs, brain, nerves, joints, and transplanted and traumatized tissues.
