The University of Florida Center for Regenerative Medicine will expand and integrate cell-based regenerative medicine therapeutics into standard-of-care practices by facilitating transition from pre-clinical regenerative medicine research into clinical trials and ultimately developing a service line of novel life-changing therapies.

Leveraging the university’s strength in engineering, biology, and veterinary medicine will help to develop useful products and approaches including tissue-on-a-chip platforms, cell-based diagnostics, and cell-based therapeutics.  The center will create guideline-recommended practical strategies to ameliorate injury in diseases affecting multiple organs, including the heart, blood and blood vessels, muscle, lungs, brain, nerves, joints, and transplanted and traumatized tissues.

Dr. March’s lab spans across the campus in four locations and plans to add more trainees, students and techs in the future.
